| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Wallace L. Heil Sr. of |
4 |
| Havana on Saturday, February 7, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Heil was born on June 6, 1920, in Mount Vernon |
6 |
| to Ed and Louise Heil; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Heil valiantly served his country in World War |
8 |
| II; he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient |
9 |
| of medals, including the Purple Heart; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Heil worked in the furniture business for 40 |
11 |
| years; he was a member of First United Methodist Church, |
12 |
| Shrine, and Scottish Rite; he was active in the Christian |
13 |
| County Democratic Party; he was a past member of St. Vincent's |
14 |
| Hospital Board, the Kiwani's Club, the VFW, and the Masonic |
15 |
| Lodge; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Heil was appointed by Governors Walker, |
17 |
| Thompson, and Edgar to the Human Rights Commission; he was a |
18 |
| past president of the country club and the Park Board; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Wallace L. Heil Sr. has been deeply |
20 |
| felt by many, especially his son, Wallace Jr. (wife, Deidra) |
21 |
| Heil; his daughter, Pam (husband, Jim) Thomas; his two |
22 |
| grandsons; his stepgrandson; his three great-grandchildren; |
23 |
| his two step-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Geraldine |
24 |
| (husband, Wayne) McKinney; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
27 |
| Wallace L. Heil Sr., and we extend our deepest sympathy to his |
28 |
| friends, family, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
