2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | ||||||
3 | were saddened to learn of the passing of Everlene Daniels | ||||||
4 | Chambers on June 16, 2003; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Everlene Daniels Chambers was born in Lonoke, | ||||||
6 | Arkansas to Jordan and Bertha Daniels; she was the beloved wife | ||||||
7 | John A. Chambers; and | ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Everlene Daniels Chambers moved to Carbondale | ||||||
9 | with her family and attended Crispus Attucks Grammar School and | ||||||
10 | High School; and | ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Everlene Daniels Chambers worked in several | ||||||
12 | occupations until her marriage to John, with whom she had two | ||||||
13 | sons; and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Everlene Daniels Chambers was a member of the | ||||||
15 | Hopewell Baptist Church, where she worked faithfully in the | ||||||
16 | Women's Ministry and other organizations; and | ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Everlene Daniels Chambers was known for her | ||||||
18 | kindness and generosity and often said what a blessing it was | ||||||
19 | to be able to give to others; and | ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Everlene Daniels Chambers enjoyed growing a | ||||||
21 | wonderful garden with her husband from which she gave | ||||||
22 | generoulsy to neighbors, as well as canning, quilting and | ||||||
23 | sewing, and making desserts for relatives and friends, | ||||||
24 | especially her German Chocolate, Pineapple Coconut, or Cheese | ||||||
25 | Cakes; and | ||||||
26 | WHEREAS, The passing of Everlene Daniels Chambers will be | ||||||
27 | deeply felt by many, especially her husband, John A. Chambers; | ||||||
28 | her two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric E. Daniels and his wife |

2 | sisters, Claudia Mae Scott, Ercie Sumner, and Bennie Jean | ||||||

4 | Daniels, and Glenda Chambers; her five great-grandchildren, | ||||||
5 | Manuel Woods, Joseph Woods, Johnny Ellis, Verlina Ellis, and | ||||||
6 | Lamont Ellis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, | ||||||
7 | cousins, other relatives, and friends; and | ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, Jordan | ||||||
9 | and Bertha Daniels; her sisters, Mary Frances Robertson, | ||||||
10 | Bernice Sutton, and Beatrice Reid; and her brothers, Elmo | ||||||
11 | Daniels, Freddie Daniels, Richard Daniels, Harold Dean | ||||||
12 | Daniels, and George Daniels; therefore, be it | ||||||
13 | RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY | ||||||
14 | OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Everlene | ||||||
15 | Daniels Chambers along with all who knew and loved her and | ||||||
16 | extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and | ||||||
17 | be it further | ||||||
18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Everlene Daniels Chambers as an | ||||||
20 | expression of our sorrow for their loss.
