| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Russell W. Moffitt of |
4 |
| Gilson on Monday, December 22, 2003; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Moffitt was born on December 3, 1912, in |
6 |
| Grangeville, Idaho, to Clyde E. and Rosa Heinmeister Moffitt; |
7 |
| he married Gertrude Johnson on July 3, 1941, in Biggsville; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Moffitt had driven a livestock truck in |
9 |
| Biggsville; he then farmed in Henderson County and Warren |
10 |
| County, until moving to Knox County in 1947; he lived near |
11 |
| Gilson for 43 years; he also ran a bulldozing business for 10 |
12 |
| years; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Moffitt was a member of the Knox County Farm |
14 |
| Bureau, the Western Illinois Antique Car Club, and the Spoon |
15 |
| River Antique Tractor Club; he was a member of Knoxville United |
16 |
| Methodist Church; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Russell W. Moffitt has been deeply |
18 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Gertrude; his son, Donald |
19 |
| (and Carolyn); his brother, Emery; his sister, Rosalie (and |
20 |
| Andy) Melvin; and his three grandchildren; therefore, be it
|
21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| Russell W. Moffitt, and we extend our sympathy to his family |
24 |
| and friends; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to the family of Mr. Moffitt as an expression our |
27 |
| condolences for their loss.
