| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Anthony |
4 |
| Threet, Jr. on December 4, 2003; and |
5 |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Anthony Threet, Jr., the oldest of two |
6 |
| children of Michael and Pamela Threet, Sr., was born August 4, |
7 |
| 1976 in Chicago; and |
8 |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Anthony Threet, Jr. gave his life to the |
9 |
| Lord at an early age, and was a member of St. Sabina Catholic |
10 |
| Church under the pastorate of Reverend Michael Pfleger; and |
11 |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Anthony Threet, Jr. was a man of strong |
12 |
| faith, loved the Bible and enjoyed reading, meditating, and |
13 |
| discussing the Word of God, especially his favorite scripture |
14 |
| Matthew 6:31-32; and |
15 |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Anthony Threet, Jr. attended St. Philip |
16 |
| Neri Elementary School, and in 1995 graduated from De LaSalle |
17 |
| Institute, where he was a member of the wrestling and football |
18 |
| teams; he was also Vice-President of the Student Council; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, After graduating from De LaSalle Institute, he |
20 |
| attended Daley College and worked as an administrative |
21 |
| assistant at Spathies Construction Company; and |
22 |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Anthony Threet, Jr. enjoyed driving his |
23 |
| car and playing video games; he was an avid reader of history |
24 |
| and science-fiction and had a passion for helping young people, |
25 |
| having volunteered as a tutor at De LaSalle Institute and the |
26 |
| City Year Program of Chicago; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, Michael Anthony Threet, Jr. was "best buddies" |
28 |
| with his brother Chris, and had a special relationship with |
