| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the passing of Mary Ellen Reardon, |
4 |
| formerly of Oak Park, on December 8, 2003; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Reardon, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. |
6 |
| John Lenehan Stack, was born in Utica, New York; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Reardon was a graduate of the Oswego College |
8 |
| in New York; she was one of the first lay teachers at St. Giles |
9 |
| School in Oak Park, where she taught first grade for 15 years; |
10 |
| and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Reardon deeply touched the lives of her many |
12 |
| students, certainly none more so than a first-grader named Don |
13 |
| Harmon, whom she employed for years thereafter, cutting grass, |
14 |
| shoveling snow, and performing odd jobs; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Reardon was preceded in death by her parents, |
16 |
| Mr. and Mrs. John Lenehan Stack; her husband, Douglas W. |
17 |
| Reardon; and her brothers, Edward, John, and William Stack; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Reardon's passing was deeply felt by |
19 |
| many, especially her daughter and her son-in-law, Mary Lynda |
20 |
| and Michael Harrigan; her grandchildren, Alexis and Michael |
21 |
| Harrigan; and her many friends and family; therefore, be it
|
22 |
| RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY |
23 |
| OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Mary Ellen |
24 |
| Reardon; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to the family of Mary Ellen Reardon as an expression |
27 |
| of our sorrow for their loss.
