093_SR0334 LRB093 14455 KEF 20166 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Donald 4 Blimling of Murrayville on November 16, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Blimling was born January 13, 1925, in 6 Woodson, the son of R.V. and Mabel McCurley Blimling; he 7 married Thelma Louise "Totty" Mehrhoff in 1945 in 8 Murrayville; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Blimling was a United States Navy veteran of 10 World War II, serving on the USS Maryland in the Pacific from 11 1944-1946; he was a lifelong farmer in the Murrayville area; 12 he served as Morgan County Commissioner from 1978-1986 and 13 Democrat precinct committeeman for many years; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Blimling was a member of Murrayville 15 Methodist Church; he was a lifetime member of American Legion 16 Post 311 of Murrayville, Masonic Harmony 3 of Jacksonville, 17 York Rite of Free Masonry Jacksonville Chapter 3, RAM Council 18 5R, S.M. Commandery 31 K.T., UCT Council 182 in Jacksonville, 19 and USS Maryland BB-46 Veterans Association; and 20 WHEREAS, Donald Blimling's passing will be deeply felt by 21 many, especially his wife, Thelma Louise "Totty"; his 22 daughters, Lana (husband, Terry) Woodard and Jeri Kay 23 (husband, Clinton) Cain; his two sons, Ron (wife, Tina) 24 Blimling and Mark (wife, Deborah) Blimling; his nine 25 grandchildren; his great-granddaughter; his three brothers, 26 Dale Blimling, Dean Blimling, and Charles Blimling; and his 27 three sisters, Marjorie Kehl, Mabel Henkel, and Peggy Ash; 28 therefore, be it 29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 31 Donald Blimling along with all who knew and loved him and -2- LRB093 14455 KEF 20166 r 1 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and 2 be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 4 presented to the family of Donald Blimling as an expression 5 of our deepest sympathy.
