 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  learned with regret of the death of Michael Voelker
 4    of Belleville on October 2, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Michael F. Voelker was born on February 2,  1941
 6    in  East  St.  Louis  to  Sylvester  R. "Tony" and Marquerite
 7    Voelker; his father precedes him in death; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Voelker was a retired  salesman;  he  was  a
 9    member of St. Peter's Cathedral in Belleville, where he was a
10    member  of  the Men's Choir; he was also a former barber shop
11    singer; and

12        WHEREAS, The passing  of  Michael  F.  Voelker  has  been
13    deeply  felt  by  all  who knew and loved him, especially his
14    sons, Major John David (Amy) Voelker, USMC and  Major  Thomas
15    Edward  (Tara)  Voelker,  USMC;  his  mother, Marquerite, nee
16    Bernasco,  Voelker;  his  grandchildren,   Christine   Marie,
17    Elizabeth  Erin, and Margaret Jane Voelker; and his brothers,
18    the Reverend James A.  Voelker  and  the  Reverend  David  A.
19    Voelker; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
21    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along  with
22    all  who  knew  him,  the  death  of  Michael  F.  Voelker of
23    Belleville; and be it further

24        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
25    presented  to  the  family  of  Michael  F.  Voelker with our
26    sincerest condolences.
