093_SR0242 LRB093 13206 KEF 18474 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Walter T. 4 Faro of Zion; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Faro was born October 26, 1948 in Warren, 6 Ohio; he grew up in Zion, the son of Dan and Amelia Faro; and 7 WHEREAS, Mr. Faro served in Vietnam from 1969-70, in 8 Company A 2/10, Fifth United States Army, the "First Cavalry" 9 as a "Tunnel Rat"; he rose to the rank of Sergeant; the 10 honors he received included: National Defense Service Medal; 11 Bronze Star Medal with "V" (valor) Device; Air Medal; Vietnam 12 Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars; Vietnam Campaign 13 Medal with 60 Device; Combat Infantry Badge; and a Silver 14 Star which was removed because it had been awarded during 15 combat in Cambodia rather than in Vietnam; and 16 WHEREAS, In his civilian career, he began work in Tool 17 and Die manufacturing and progressed to a Nuclear Reactor 18 Machinist on Hot sites and new machines, Quality Control 19 Expert for order from the United States government for 600 20 Bradley Tanks, and Quality Control Expert and Government 21 Contract Consultant for various government jobs, including 22 the United States Tank Division; in the last ten years, the 23 Veterans Administration and Social Security granted him 100 24 percent disability; and 25 WHEREAS, Mr. Faro's passing will be deeply felt by many, 26 especially his wife, Ingrid; his son, Walter Jr.; his father, 27 Dan Faro; his sister, Cheryl Sanchez; and his brothers, Dan, 28 David, and Michael and their respective families; and 29 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia; 30 therefore, be it 31 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL -2- LRB093 13206 KEF 18474 r 1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 2 of Walter T. Faro along with all who knew and loved him and 3 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and 4 be it further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 presented to the family of Walter T. Faro as an expression of 7 our deepest sympathy.
