 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  learned  with  regret  of  the  death  of Joseph S.
 4    Semasko of North Chicago on Thursday, August 14, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Joseph S. Semasko was born on August 28, 1915 in
 6    North Chicago, Illinois and lived there all of his life; and

 7        WHEREAS, Mr. Semasko retired from Waukegan Township  High
 8    School in 1980 after 20 years of service; he also worked as a
 9    machinist  at  Mosso  Screw  Company,  Good  Year  Hose,  and
10    Fansteel Metallurgical and was the owner of Joe's Tavern; and

11        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Semasko  was  a 2nd Ward Alderman in North
12    Chicago for 20 years and a Democratic Precinct  Committeeman;
13    he  was  also  a  volunteer  at  the  North  Chicago Veterans
14    Administration Hospital for 16 years; and

15        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Semasko  loved   fishing,   golfing,   and
16    traveling; he was a member of Queen of Peace Church, formerly
17    Holy  Rosary Church, a member of Holy Name Society, P.R.C.U.,
18    Waukegan Knights of Columbus, Waukegan Moose, and the Greater
19    North Chicago Senior Citizens; and

20        WHEREAS, The passing  of   Joseph  S.  Semasko  has  been
21    deeply  felt  by  all  who knew and loved him, especially his
22    wife of  18  years,  Millicent  (nee  Sisolak)  Semasko;  his
23    children,   Joseph   "Corkey"  (Christine)  Semasko,  Bernard
24    Semasko, Connie (Tom) Fisher, and Joyce  (Michael)  Leginski;
25    his  grandchildren,  Ann-Marie, Jackie, Renee, Steve, Carrie,
26    Greg,  Joe,  Jeff,   Mark,   and   Lisa;   and   five   great
27    grandchildren; and

28        WHEREAS,   He  was  preceded  in  death  by  his parents,
29    Vincent and Anna Semasko, his wife of  42  years,  Rose  (nee
30    Sepanek),  his brothers, John, Tom (Abie), Henry, Jerome, and
31    Vincent, and his sister Pauline; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
 2    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
 3    of Joseph S. Semasko and extend our deepest sympathy  to  his
 4    family, friends, and community; and be it further

 5        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 6    presented to the family of Joseph S. Semasko as an expression
 7    of our sincerest condolences.
