093_SR0236 LRB093 13165 HSS 18428 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Helen Frances 4 Luther, formerly of Winthrop Harbor, which occurred on 5 Thursday, August 14, 2003, and 6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Luther was born on April 23, 1911 in Ewing, 7 Nebraska, to Don and Lucy Versaw; she grew up in Bloomington, 8 Nebraska, where she graduated from high school in 1930; she 9 worked for several years in Nebraska and moved to Zion in the 10 mid to late 1930s, where she married William Luther; and 11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Luther served as Village Clerk of Winthrop 12 Harbor from April of 1949 until April of 1957; she was also 13 employed by Harris Motors for over 30 years; she was a 14 longtime member of Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church, 15 where she was a member of United Methodist Women; and 16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Luther will be remembered as sweet, 17 compassionate, and community-minded with a deep faith in God; 18 her passing has been deeply felt by many, especially her 19 daughters, Donna Biscardi, Claudia (Tom) Luther-Trapnell, and 20 Rita Luther; her grandchildren, Anita (Bill) Anderson, Dale 21 (Kathy) Biscardi, and Carol Biscardi; her 22 great-grandchildren, Robyn, Bonnie, Angela, Troy, Nicole, 23 Kristina, and Laura; and her brothers, Harold Versaw and 24 Donald Versaw; therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that mourn the passing of 27 Mrs. Luther, and we extend our sincere condolences to her 28 family and friends; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to the family of Helen Frances Luther as an 31 expression of our deepest sympathy.
