093_SR0223 LRB093 12515 HSS 17703 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the 4 untimely death of Robert A. Koranda of Naperville on Sunday, 5 June 29, 2003; and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Koranda was born on November 1, 1979 in 7 Winfield to Kenneth and Susan Koranda; he graduated from 8 Naperville North High School in 1998, where he was the 9 recipient of numerous honors; and 10 WHEREAS, At Naperville North High School, Mr. Koranda was 11 captain of the varsity football team and received awards for 12 all-conference, first team all-area, and was voted the most 13 valuable player by his teammates; he was a Youth in 14 Government Representative and was President of the Huskie 15 Stock Club; he was an alumnus of the J. Kyle Braid Leadership 16 Foundation; and 17 WHEREAS, Mr. Koranda graduated from Princeton University 18 in 2002; he was a member of the football team and President 19 of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity; he played rugby at 20 Princeton and received the 2002 Christopher D. Mello Memorial 21 Award for leadership, athleticism, loyalty, and friendship 22 both on and off the rugby pitch; he was also a member of the 23 University Cottage Club at Princeton; and 24 WHEREAS, The passing of Robert A. Koranda has been deeply 25 felt by many, especially his parents, Kenneth and Susan 26 Koranda; his sister, Katherine Susan (husband Scott) Tanaka; 27 his brother, John Andrew Koranda; his uncles, Allen Koranda 28 and John (wife Mary) Whitney; his aunts, Janann Koranda and 29 Sue Whitney; his cousins, Kerry (wife Lisa) Koranda, Kara 30 (husband Andrew) Pfouts, Krista (husband J.) Coleman, and 31 Kristen, Kimberly, Michael, and Jena Whitney; therefore, be 32 it -2- LRB093 12515 HSS 17703 r 1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 3 of Robert A. Koranda and extend our deepest sympathy to his 4 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 5 further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to the family of Robert A.
