093_SR0201 LRB093 12271 HSS 17455 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely 4 death of Marshall Micheal Khayat of Wadsworth on Saturday, 5 June 21, 2003; and 6 WHEREAS, Marshall was born on September 21, 1987 at Lake 7 Forest Hospital to Christian and Twyla Khayat; he attended 8 Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, where he was a 9 grammar school graduate; and 10 WHEREAS, Marshall attended Carmel High School in 11 Mundelein, where he had a grade point average of 4.1; he 12 participated in football as quarterback, was a first string 13 guard on the sophomore basketball team, and was first string 14 on the baseball team; and 15 WHEREAS, Marshall had been an avid hockey player since he 16 was five years old; he loved and cherished his Lake County 17 Atoms teammates, with whom he played center; he was a member 18 of the Dolphin Swim Team based in Zion, where he achieved 19 many swim records; and 20 WHEREAS, Marshall had planned to graduate from Carmel 21 High School with high honors and go to Notre Dame College, 22 where he would play quarterback; and 23 WHEREAS, The passing of Marshall Micheal Khayat has been 24 deeply felt by all who knew him, especially his parents, 25 Christian and Twyla Khayat; his brothers, Christian Micheal 26 and Elliot Micheal Khayat; his grandparents, Helena and 27 Stanley Finka and Lawrence and Nancy Lussier; his uncles, 28 Leonard and Mark Khayat and Lawrence Lussier, Jr.; his aunts, 29 Mary Bennett, Jeanette Donahue, Miranda Reeder, and Lanay 30 Voorlas; his cousins, Alex and Chrissy, Aleks and Stephan, 31 Tanya, Tammy, Melissa, Michelle, Helena, Ashley, Michael, -2- LRB093 12271 HSS 17455 r 1 Derek, Leanne, Michael, LaNay, Jerilyn, and Robert; his 2 future sister-in-law, Krista Harvey; his sister-like friend, 3 Jill Rizzo; and his fellow athletes, students, parents, 4 family, teachers, coaches, and friends; therefore, be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 7 Marshall Micheal Khayat and extend to his friends, family, 8 and all who knew and loved him our deepest sympathy; and be 9 it further 10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 11 presented to the family of Marshall Micheal Khayat as an 12 expression of our sincere condolences during their time of 13 bereavement.
