093_SR0177 LRB093 12105 KEF 16965 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of James Stalcup 4 of Wood River on May 23, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Stalcup was born on June 15, 1922, in Union, 6 Missouri to Rodney K. and Catherine (Matthews) Stalcup; and 7 WHEREAS, Mr. Stalcup married the former Teresa H. Woolsey 8 on October 15, 1947, in Alton; he was a veteran of the United 9 States Navy; and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Stalcup was a salesman for Colonial Banking 11 Co. for 20 years and was a salesman for both Airport Real 12 Estate and Wooff Real Estate; he was a 1940 graduate of 13 Marquette Catholic High School; he was a member of the 14 Southwestern Illinois Planning Commission, the Rosewood 15 Heights Improvement Association, and the Wood River Moose 16 Lodge; he was a former Madison County Board member, an 17 election judge, and a retired Teamster from Local 525; and 18 WHEREAS, Mr. Stalcup's passing will be deeply felt by 19 many, especially his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and 20 Larry Trent; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tom and 21 Cathi Stalcup, Tim and Tami Stalcup, and Kevin Stalcup; his 22 grandchildren and their spouses, Derek Trent, Darin and Tara 23 Trent, Angie and Andy Blasingim, Jeremy and Brittany Stalcup, 24 and Alicia, Christopher, Justin, Tyler, Jared and Chelsea 25 Stalcup; his two step grandchildren and their spouses, 26 Allison and Mike Beachum and Chris and Amy Plank; his 27 great-grandchildren, Brady, Alli, and Dalton Trent, and 28 Kelsey and Karly Blasingim; his step-great-granchildren, 29 Austin, Morgan, Victoria, and Kenny Beachum; his sister and 30 brother-in-law, Katie and Harry Williams; and his two 31 brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Helen Stalcup and 32 Larry and Lou Stalcup; and -2- LRB093 12105 KEF 16965 r 1 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife; his 2 parents; his sister, Faye Collins; and his brother, Jack 3 Stalcup; therefore, be it 4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 6 James Stalcup along with all who knew and loved him and 7 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and 8 be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 10 presented to the family of James Stalcup as an expression of 11 our deepest sympathy.
