 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the Senate  of  the  Ninety-third
 3    Illinois  General Assembly are saddened to learn of the death
 4    of Maria Rios of Chicago on Monday, January 27, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mrs. Rios was born in Chicago and resided in the
 6    Humboldt Park community for many years; and

 7        WHEREAS, Mrs. Rios was a dedicated employee of  the  City
 8    of  Chicago  Department  of  Sewers  for  ten  years, holding
 9    positions as a laborer and for two and a  half  years  as  an
10    assistant cleaning foreman; and

11        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Rios  is  remembered  as  a  loving wife,
12    mother, friend and neighbor who touched the lives of all  who
13    knew her; and

14        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Rios  is survived by her devoted husband,
15    Rafael B. Rios, and her loving  son,  Rafael  B.  Rios,  III;
16    therefore be it

17        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
18    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  That we mourn  the  death
19    of Maria Rios; and be it further

20        RESOLVED,  That  suitable  copies  of  this  preamble and
21    resolution be presented  to  members  of  her  family  as  an
22    expression of our sorrow for their loss.
