 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were  saddened  to learn of the death of Staff Sgt.
 4    Jacob Frazier of St. Charles, one of the  men  killed  in  an
 5    ambush in south central Afghanistan on March 29, 2003; and

 6        WHEREAS,   Sgt.   Frazier   was   in   a   four   vehicle
 7    reconnaissance patrol that came under fire near Geresk in the
 8    Helmand province of south central Afghanistan; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Sgt.  Frazier  was  assigned  to  the 169th Air
10    Support Operations Squadron of  the  182nd  Airlift  Wing  in
11    Peoria;  he  had  been  working  with  the United States Army
12    Special Forces in Afghanistan since January; and

13        WHEREAS,  His  passing  will  be  deeply  felt  by  many,
14    especially his parents, Jim and Joyce Frazier;  his  sisters,
15    Jessica  and  Kathryn;  his brothers, Zachary and Daniel; his
16    fiancee, Jessica Fregin; his four grandparents; and his aunts
17    and uncles; therefore, be it

18        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
19    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
20    Staff  Sgt.  Jacob  Frazier along with all who knew and loved
21    him  and  extend  our  sincere  condolences  to  his  family,
22    friends, and community; and be it further

23        RESOLVED, That  we  honor  Staff  Sgt.  Frazier  and  his
24    willingness to serve our country, which led to him making the
25    ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

26        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
27    presented to the family of Staff Sgt. Jacob Frazier with  our
28    deepest sympathy.
