093_SR0125 LRB093 11655 KEF 15153 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State were 3 saddened to learn of the death of Bernice L. Baltz of 4 Shorewood on April 20, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Baltz was born in Joliet; she spent her 6 life working with her husband on the family farm; they hosted 7 the Farm Progress Show and welcomed the Japanese Emperor 8 Hirohito to their home; and 9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Baltz was a charter member of the Troy Fire 10 Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Troy Township Seniors, and 11 the Troy Homemakers; she was also a member of the Joliet 12 Ostomy Club; and 13 WHEREAS, Mrs. Baltz's passing will be deeply felt by 14 many, especially her four children, John E., Gerald R. 15 (Barbara), Judy I. (Gene) Briscoe, and Joseph D. (Nancy) 16 Baltz; her seventeen grandchildren; her nine 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Rita Pieper; and her 18 brother, Raymond (Catherine) Emiley; and 19 WHEREAS, Mrs. Baltz was preceded in death by her husband, 20 Donald E. Baltz; her parents, Raymond and Margaret (Eich) 21 Emiley; her sister, Helen Martin; and her brother-in-law, 22 Norman; therefore, be it 23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 25 Bernice L. Baltz along with all who knew and loved her and 26 extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and 27 be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to the family of Bernice L. Baltz.
