093_SR0057 LRB093 10968 KEF 12065 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Ronald G. 4 Ivall, the mayor of Monticello, on Monday, February 10, 2003; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Ivall was born on February 1, 1934 in 7 Kankakee to George Marcus Ivall and Hannah M. DuBre Ivall; he 8 married Lynn on February 1, 1966; and 9 WHEREAS, Mayor Ivall served Monticello as Superintendent 10 of City Services from 1976 to 1996; he returned to serve the 11 community as Mayor in 2001; he will be remembered as a Mayor 12 who took a "hands-on" approach to strengthening his 13 community; if a water line broke, he was known to get a 14 shovel and contribute to the digging; and 15 WHEREAS, One of Mayor Ivall's dreams was to restore a 16 strong sense of community to Monticello; he will also be 17 remembered for standing his ground over causes he championed 18 and for his knowledge of his community; and 19 WHEREAS, Mayor Ivall was a member of First Presbyterian 20 Church of Monticello and Monticello Masonic Lodge 58 AF & AM; 21 and 22 WHEREAS, The passing of Mayor Ivall will be deeply felt 23 by many, especially his wife, Lynn; his sons, Kevin Patrick 24 and Randy Ivall; his daughters, Rhonda Anderson, Becky 25 Andruczyk, Cindy Reeder, and Tracey Blackwell; his brother, 26 Jerry Ivall; his 17 grandchildren; and his seven 27 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 30 of Ronald G.
