093_SR0050 LRB093 11121 HSS 11895 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Maud R. 4 Hylton of East Alton on Tuesday, February 18, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hylton was born on May 2, 1902 in White 6 County, near Buffalo, Indiana, to Alfred Ranking and Lily Mae 7 (Moore) Renwick; she married Lertie Madison Hylton on 8 December 3, 1921; he was a lawyer with the Veterans 9 Administration and he preceded her in death; and 10 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hylton graduated from Monticello High 11 School and attended Indiana University; she graduated from 12 Butler University; she and her husband lived in Indianapolis, 13 Indiana; Des Moines, Iowa; River Forest; and Great Neck, New 14 York; she taught high school in Indiana and Iowa; they 15 retired to East Alton in 1966; and 16 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hylton was a member of St. Paul United 17 Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights; she also was a member 18 of the Wood River Garden Club, Wood River Woman's Club 19 (American Home), and the Niangua Chapter of the Daughters of 20 the American Revolution; and 21 WHEREAS, The passing of Mrs. Hylton has been deeply felt 22 by many, especially her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and 23 Robert Pease; her two granddaughters and a spouse, Kyle and 24 Allan Napp and Kym Schmidt; her two grandsons and their 25 wives, Jeff and Gina Skjerseth and Jamie and Lisa Skjerseth; 26 her ten great-grandchildren, Ian, Aiden, and Grace Napp, 27 Tyler Ford, Jessica, Meghan, and Gillian Schmidt, Jordyn 28 Finke, and Paul and Abby Skjerseth; and her several nieces 29 and nephews; therefore, be it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 31 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing -2- LRB093 11121 HSS 11895 r 1 of Maud R. Hylton and offer our sincerest condolences to her 2 family and friends; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 4 presented to the family of Maud R. Hylton with our deepest 5 sympathy.
