093_SR0026 LRB093 07429 HSS 07593 r 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of 3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of George M. 4 Winters, Jr. of Gurnee on Saturday, January 25, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Winters was born on November 22, 1934 in 6 Rockford where he was a graduate of West High School; he 7 attended Bradley University in Peoria; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Winters had a 24 year career in banking in 9 Rockford, Davenport, Iowa and Libertyville; he retired from 10 the Libertyville National Bank; he later owned and operated 11 Ann's Bavariahaus Restaurant and Deli in Libertyville; and 12 WHEREAS, Mr. Winters was a very active member and past 13 president of the Libertyville Lions Club; he was also a 14 member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Waukegan and 15 a member of the Stoneybrook Board of Directors at Heather 16 Ridge; and 17 WHEREAS, The passing of Mr. Winters has been deeply felt 18 by many, especially his wife of 39 years, Bess (nee Poulos) 19 Winters; his two children, Angela (Gregg) Stasiak, and George 20 M. Winters III; his two grandchildren, Zachary and Dylan; and 21 his sister, Mary Ann Hockett; therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL 23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 24 of George M. Winters, Jr. and offer his family and friends 25 our sincerest condolences; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to the family of George M. Winters, Jr. with our 28 deepest sympathy.
