| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2902 by replacing |

| the title with the following:

| "AN ACT concerning insurance."; and
|
| 5 |
| by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the |
| 6 |
| following:
|
| 7 |
| "Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
| 8 |
| changing Section 155.20
as follows:
|
| 9 |
| (215 ILCS 5/155.20) (from Ch. 73, par. 767.20)
|
| 10 |
| Sec. 155.20. Medical malpractice disputes; arbitration. |
| 11 |
| All final
arbitration decisions rendered in relation to
|
| 12 |
| disputes
or controversies arising out of injuries allegedly |
| 13 |
| caused by reason of hospital
or health care provider |
| 14 |
| malpractice shall be recognized by any insurance
company doing |
| 15 |
| business in the State of Illinois and all findings of facts
|
| 16 |
| relating to liability and awards of damages in relation thereto |
| 17 |
| which are
a part of the final arbitration decision shall be |
| 18 |
| binding on such insurance
companies.
