| AN ACT concerning public utilities.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by changing |
5 |
| Section 9-101 as follows:
|
6 |
| (220 ILCS 5/9-101) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 9-101)
|

| Sec. 9-101. All rates or other charges that are made, |
8 |
| demanded or received by any
product or commodity furnished or |
9 |
| to be furnished or for any service rendered
or to be rendered |
10 |
| shall be just and reasonable. Every unjust or unreasonable
|
11 |
| charge that are made, demanded or received for such product or |
12 |
| commodity or service
is hereby prohibited and declared |
13 |
| unlawful. All rules and regulations that are made
by a public |
14 |
| utility affecting or pertaining to its charges to the public
|
15 |
| shall be just and reasonable.
