| AN ACT concerning criminal identification.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Criminal Identification Act is amended by |
5 |
| changing Section 1 as follows:
|
6 |
| (20 ILCS 2630/1) (from Ch. 38, par. 206-1)
|

| Sec. 1. The Department of State Police hereinafter
referred |
8 |
| to as the
"Department", is hereby empowered to cope with the |
9 |
| task of criminal
identification and investigation.
|
10 |
| The Director of the Department of State Police
shall, from |
11 |
| time to
time, appoint such employees or assistants as may be |
12 |
| necessary to carry out
this work. Employees or assistants so |
13 |
| appointed shall receive salaries
subject to the standard pay |
14 |
| plan provided for in the "Personnel Code",
approved July 18, |
15 |
| 1955, as amended.
