20 ILCS 1805/27.5 new










    Amends the Military Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Military Affairs to create and make available a publication setting forth the rights and responsibilities of servicemembers under State and federal law. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning military affairs.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Military Code of Illinois is amended  by 
5
adding Section 27.5 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 1805/27.5  new)

    Sec. 27.5. Publication of rights and responsibilities. The 
8
Department must create a publication setting forth the rights 
9
and responsibilities of servicemembers under State and federal 
10
law. The Department must make this publication available 
11
through printed or electronic means to servicemembers, their 
12
families, and organizations that assist servicemembers, 
13
veterans, or their families.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
15
becoming law.
