093_SB1837 SRS093 00076 MVH 00076 b 1 AN ACT concerning education. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing 5 Section 30-13. 6 (105 ILCS 5/30-13) (from Ch. 122, par. 30-13) 7 Sec. 30-13.TheAll scholarships issued under Sections 8 30-9 through 30-12 of this Article may be used at the 9 University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago 10 State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors 11 State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern 12 Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, and 13 Western Illinois University as provided in those sections. 14 Unless otherwise indicated, these scholarships shall be good 15 for a period of not more than 4 years while enrolled for 16 residence credit and shall exempt the holder from the payment 17 of tuition, or any matriculation, graduation, activity, term 18 or incidental fee, except any portion of a multipurpose fee 19 which is used for a purpose for which exemption is not 20 granted under this Section. Exemption shall not be granted 21 from any other fees, including book rental, service, 22 laboratory, supply, union building, hospital and medical 23 insurance fees and any fees established for the operation and 24 maintenance of buildings, the income of which is pledged to 25 the payment of interest and principal on bonds issued by the 26 governing board of any university or community college. 27 Any student who has been or shall be awarded a 28 scholarship shall be reimbursed by the appropriate university 29 or community college for any fees which he has paid and for 30 which exemption is granted under this Section, if application 31 for such reimbursement is made within 2 months following the -2- SRS093 00076 MVH 00076 b 1 school term for which the fees were paid. 2 The holder of a scholarship shall be subject to all 3 examinations, rules and requirements of the university or 4 community college in which he is enrolled except as herein 5 directed. 6 This article does not prohibit the Board of Trustees of 7 the University of Illinois, the Board of Trustees of Southern 8 Illinois University, the Board of Regents of the Regency 9 Universities System and the Board of Governors of State 10 Colleges and Universities for the institutions under their 11 respective jurisdictions from granting other scholarships. 12 (Source: P.A. 88-228; 89-4, eff. 1-1-96.)
