Amend Senate Bill 1108 by replacing 3 the title with the following: 4 "AN ACT in relation to vehicles."; and 5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 6 following: 7 "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by 8 changing Section 18a-302 as follows: 9 (625 ILCS 5/18a-302) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 18a-302) 10 Sec. 18a-302. Owner or other person in lawful possession 11 or control of private property - Right to employ relocation 12 service. It shall be unlawful for an owner or other person in 13 lawful possession or control of private property to remove or 14 employ a commercial relocator to remove an unauthorized 15 vehicle from such property unless written notice is provided 16 to the effect that such vehicles will be removed, including 17 the name, address and telephone number of the appropriate 18 commercial vehicle relocator, if any. Such notice shall 19 consist of a sign, posted in a conspicuous place in the 20 affected area, of a size at least 4824inches in height by 21 4836inches in width. Such sign shall be at least 4 feet -2- LRB093 10874 DRH 12685 a 1 from the ground but less than 98feet from the ground and 2 shall be either illuminated or brightly painted with 3 reflective paint, or both. Such sign shall state the amount 4 of towing charges to which the person parking may be subject. 5 This provision shall not be construed as prohibiting any unit 6 of local government from imposing additional or greater 7 notice requirements. 8 No express notice shall be required under this Section 9 upon residential property which, paying due regard to the 10 circumstances and the surrounding area, is clearly reserved 11 or intended exclusively for the use or occupation of 12 residents or their vehicles. 13 (Source: P.A. 81-332.) 14 Section 99.
