 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 639

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill  639  on  page  2,
 3    immediately below line 16, by inserting the following:
 4        "(e)  The  Department  may  not make arrangements with an
 5    existing  hospital   or   grant-in-aid   or   fee-for-service
 6    community  provider  for  transportation  services under this
 7    Section unless  the  hospital  or  provider  has  voluntarily
 8    submitted  a  proposal  for its transportation services. This
 9    proposal shall include the provision of trained personnel and
10    the use of an appropriate vehicle for the safe  transport  of
11    the respondents."; and

12    on  page  4,  immediately  below  line  3,  by  inserting the
13    following:
14        "(d)  The Department may not make  arrangements  with  an
15    existing   hospital   or   grant-in-aid   or  fee-for-service
16    community provider for  transportation  services  under  this
17    Section  unless  the  hospital  or  provider  has voluntarily
18    submitted a proposal for its  transportation  services.  This
19    proposal shall include the provision of trained personnel and
20    the  use  of an appropriate vehicle for the safe transport of
21    the recipients."; and

22    on page  6,  immediately  below  line  2,  by  inserting  the
23    following:

 1        "(f)  The  Department  may  not make arrangements with an
 2    existing  hospital   or   grant-in-aid   or   fee-for-service
 3    community  provider  for   transportation services under this
 4    Section unless  the  hospital  or  provider  has  voluntarily
 5    submitted  a  proposal  for its transportation services. This
 6    proposal shall include the provision of trained personnel and
 7    the use of an appropriate vehicle for the safe  transport  of
 8    the defendants."; and

 9    on  page  6,  immediately  below  line  25,  by inserting the
10    following:
11        "The  Department  may  not  make  arrangements  with   an
12    existing   hospital   or   grant-in-aid   or  fee-for-service
13    community provider for  transportation  services  under  this
14    Section  unless  the  hospital  or  provider  has voluntarily
15    submitted a proposal for its  transportation  services.  This

18    the defendants.".
