To the Honorable Members of the

Illinois Senate

93^rd General Assembly

Pursuant to Article IV, Section 9(e) of the Illinois Constitution of 1970, I hereby return Senate Bill 272, entitled “AN ACT in relation to vehicles”, with the following specific recommendations for change:

on page 5, line 13, by replacing “shall” with “may”; and

on page 5, by replacing line 15 with the following:  “If the Commission orders the installation of such temporary stop signs, then the temporary stop signs shall remain in place until the”.

With these changes, Senate Bill 272 will have my approval.  I respectfully request your concurrence.
