HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Representative Rosemary
4 Kurtz of Crystal Lake on her service to the people of the 64th
5 District; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Representative Kurtz has been a member of the
7 Illinois House since 2001, and has served this body with
8 distinction; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Representative Kurtz's legislative
10 accomplishments include the establishment of an 800 hotline
11 number that allows victims of violent crimes to provide
12 information to the Prison Review Board, the allocation of
13 additional funds to high growth school districts, and penalties
14 for dog owners if the safety of the public is ignored; she has
15 also received numerous honors and awards in recognition of her
16 support for the environment, public education, health, and
17 farming; and
 
18     WHEREAS, She has been a member of the Committees on Health
19 Care Availability Access, Appropriations-Elementary &
20 Secondary Education, Developmental Disabilities & Mental
21 Illness, Health Care Availability & Access, Human Services,
22 Local Government, Committee of the Whole, and Healthy Illinois
23 Plan; and
 
24     WHEREAS, She has a bachelor's degree from the University of
25 Oklahoma, a master's degree from the University of Kansas, and
26 course work towards a Ph.D. at the University of Iowa; prior to
27 serving in the House, she was a high school and college
28 teacher, the Treasurer for the City of Crystal Lake, a member
29 of Crystal Lake's Zoning Board of Appeals, and a board member
30 of the McHenry County Family Services and Mental Health Clinic;

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3 congratulate Representative Rosemary Kurtz on a job well done
4 and we wish her well in her future endeavors; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Representative Rosemary Kurtz as an expression of
7 our esteem and respect for our colleague and friend.
