| WHEREAS, Shirley R. Lee started her 37-year public service |
3 |
| career for Kendall County in 1967 for the Kendall County |
4 |
| Treasurer, and worked in that office until 1971; in 1972, she |
5 |
| worked for various county departments, as needed; in the |
6 |
| Treasurer's office during tax season, the Superintendent of |
7 |
| School's office film library, and the County Assessor's office; |
8 |
| she was also a permanent part-time employee for the Circuit |
9 |
| Clerk's office; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, In 1973, she began working full-time in the |
11 |
| Circuit Clerk's office; in 1980, she was elected Kendall County |
12 |
| Circuit Clerk, and has served for six terms, for a total of 24 |
13 |
| years; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, During her tenure in the Circuit Clerk's office, |
15 |
| she served 8 years as a jury commissioner and Temporary |
16 |
| Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for Zone 5; she is a member of |
17 |
| Illinois State Association of Court Clerks and a charter member |
18 |
| of the Northeast Circuit Clerk's Association, holding the |
19 |
| office of secretary since 1991; she is also a member of the |
20 |
| Kendall County Women's Republican Club, the National |
21 |
| Republican Women's Club, the Kendall County Police Chiefs |
22 |
| Association, the Kendall County Bar Association, the Illinois |
23 |
| Family Support Enforcement Association, and she was appointed |
24 |
| by the Chief Judge of the 16th Circuit Court to serve on |
25 |
| several judicial technology committees, and has participated |
26 |
| in several state pilot programs; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, She has been a life-long member of the Newark |
28 |
| Lutheran Church, serving in various capacities over the years |
29 |
| as a Sunday School Teacher, Children's Choir Director, Church |
30 |
| Trustee, and fellowship hall building committee member; she is |
31 |
| a past member of the Newark Community Club, and served two |
32 |
| terms on the Kendall County 4-H Youth Council; and
