HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Norris Dean Waddy of Chicago was called by God to
3 the big racetrack in the sky on November 20, 2004, where his
4 bets will always be winners; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born February 1, 1941 in Villa Ridge to
6 Lawrence and Essie Mae Waddy; he married Narda Bailey, with
7 whom he had a son, Todd Yrech; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He attended Christ Universal Temple Church, where
9 he was baptized and became a member in April 2004; he attended
10 Douglas Elementary School and Douglas High School in Villa
11 Ridge, and Crane Junior College in Chicago; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He served in the U.S. Army in the Post Office
13 division in Germany from 1965 to 1969; he served in the
14 National Guard from 1969 to 1971; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He enjoyed working; he retired from Walgreens
16 after 20 years of service; on November 4, 2004, he retired from
17 the U.S. Post Office after 46 years of faithful service; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Norris had several favorite hobbies; his favorite
19 baseball team was the St. Louis Cardinals and his favorite
20 football team was the Chicago Bears; he enjoyed listening to
21 the blues, and loved to play the lottery and to bet on the
22 horses; when he was not at home, he was at the Off-Track
23 Betting parlor; and
 
24     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and a
25 sister, Vivian; and
 
26     WHEREAS, The passing of Norris Dean Waddy will be felt by
27 all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Narda; his
28 son, Todd (Wendi); his grandson, Jacob; his mother-in-law,

1 Thelma J. Bailey; his sisters, Ruby Waddy, Florence (Benjamin)
2 Richardson, Mattie (Robert) Williamson, Shirley (John)
3 Woodard, Karen (Warren) Jackson, and Erma Terry; his brothers,
4 Alfred Ligon and Kent Waddy, Donald (Vickie), Freddie (Bertha)
5 Waddy and Lionel (Angela) Waddy; his sisters-in-laws, Irene
6 (J.C.) Tunson and Hermin Bailey; and his brother-in-law, Devery
7 Bailey; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He is also survived by his special sisters, Lois
9 Banks and Dorothy Mae Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews,
10 cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13 mourn the passing of Norris Dean Waddy and we extend to his
14 family our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time; and
15 be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
18 sympathy.
