| WHEREAS, Troop 40 of the Boy Scouts of America, Trails West |

| Council, in Highland is celebrating its 75th anniversary on |
4 |
| November 14, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, The troop, which was chartered on January 27, |
6 |
| 1928, was organized by St. Paul Pastor, Father August Hohl; Dr. |
7 |
| N.E. Baumann; N.A. Zimmermann; V.H. Koch; and Frank P. Grimmer; |
8 |
| and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Louis A. Siegrist was scoutmaster to the first |
10 |
| troop, which consisted of Clinton Buchmiller; Carl Brown; |
11 |
| Edward Grimmer; Virgil Gruenenfelder; Richard Hoffman; George |
12 |
| Kapp; Anthony Neudecker; Richard Riffel; Fred Wiedner; Edward |
13 |
| Wiegand; Clarence Zimmermann; Alvin Kustermann; Richard |
14 |
| Trommel; Floyd Basler; and Paul Riffel; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Over 500 boys have passed through the troop since |
16 |
| 1928, and many have attained the rank of Eagle Scout; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Scouting helps young men and women develop |
18 |
| leadership, self-reliance, and numerous skills; therefore, be |
19 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
22 |
| congratulate the members, alumnae, and leaders of Boy Scout |
23 |
| Troop 40 in Highland on their troop's 75th anniversary; that we |
24 |
| commend all who have contributed to the success of Troop 40 |
25 |
| through the years; and that we wish the members and leaders all |
26 |
| the best in the future; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to Troop 40's leaders and scouts.
