| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The City of Mt. Vernon has won a 2004 Governor's |
3 |
| Home Town Award for its City-Wide Cleanup project; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, The Governor's Home Town Award program recognizes |
5 |
| citizens of Illinois who give unselfishly of their time, money |
6 |
| and efforts to make their communities better places to live and |
7 |
| work; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mt. Vernon's annual City-Wide Cleanup day started |
9 |
| in 1997; the citizens of Mt. Vernon wanted to make their |
10 |
| community a safer and cleaner place to live; as each year |
11 |
| passes, more and more people volunteer to help and there is a |
12 |
| smaller amount of trash to be picked up; as a result of this |
13 |
| ongoing community effort, children learn the importance of |
14 |
| keeping their community clean and adults know that the children |
15 |
| have a cleaner place to live and play; and |
16 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives |
17 |
| particularly wish to recognize the efforts of Mr. Nathan L. |
18 |
| Pigg, who has organized the annual event; therefore, be it
|
19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
20 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
21 |
| recognize the City of Mt. Vernon for winning a 2004 Governor's |
22 |
| Home Town Award and we congratulate Mr. Nathan L. Pigg and the |
23 |
| citizens of Mt. Vernon for generously volunteering to make |
24 |
| their community a better place to live; and be it further |
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to Mr. Nathan L. Pigg with our best wishes for |
27 |
| continued success in the future.
