| WHEREAS, Louis C. Cairo has been named Man of the Year by |
3 |
| the Italian American Labor Council of Greater Chicago; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, Louis was born on September 20, 1958 in Chicago; |
5 |
| his parents are Louis F. Cairo, who immigrated from Calabria, |
6 |
| Italy in 1948, and Rosemary Cairo, whose grandparents |
7 |
| immigrated from Sicily in 1890; he credits much of his success |
8 |
| to the strong work ethic, drive, and determination that he |
9 |
| inherited from his parents; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Louis is married to Gloria, whom he met twenty-two |
11 |
| years ago; they have three beautiful children, Deanna Marie, |
12 |
| Louis Anthony, and Kristina Marie; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Catholic schools from grade school |
14 |
| through law school; his tenure at Goldberg, Weisman and Cairo, |
15 |
| Ltd., the law firm that now bears his name, began two years |
16 |
| before he graduated from Loyola University School of Law in |
17 |
| Chicago in 1983, when he was hired as a clerk; his firm has |
18 |
| grown to be one of the largest personal injury and workers' |
19 |
| compensation firms in the country; the firm has generously |
20 |
| contributed to charitable organizations and union affiliated |
21 |
| functions with gifts, prizes, financial contributions, and a |
22 |
| tireless support staff; and
|
23 |
| WHEREAS, Louis has established many record settlements in |
24 |
| Illinois on behalf of clients of his firm; over the last 5 |
25 |
| years, the firm has amassed settlements and verdicts in excess |
26 |
| of $250,000,000 on behalf of clients who have suffered |
27 |
| catastrophic losses, death of a loved one, or less serious |
28 |
| injuries; and
|
29 |
| WHEREAS, Louis is a member of numerous legal associations |

| that endeavor to improve the quality of our legal system, |
