| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize and thank Barbara J. Gross |
| 4 |
| for more than 30 years of dedicated public service to Morgan |
| 5 |
| County; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Gross serves as Morgan County Clerk and |
| 7 |
| Recorder; she was elected to her first term in 1974 and ran |
| 8 |
| unopposed until 1994; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She has been extremely active as a member of the |
| 10 |
| Democrat Party, serving three times as a delegate to the |
| 11 |
| Democrat National Convention; she has served as President of |
| 12 |
| the Illinois Democrat Women's Club and on the Morgan County |
| 13 |
| Democrat Women's Board; she is also a member of the League of |
| 14 |
| Women Voters, American Legion Auxiliary, NAACP, and the Morgan |
| 15 |
| County Heritage Cultural Organization; she serves on the |
| 16 |
| Advisory Board of the State Board of Elections and as a deacon |
| 17 |
| in the Central Christian Church; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Gross has been an extremely active member of |
| 19 |
| the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorders; she is |
| 20 |
| a past president of the association, a past president of Zone |
| 21 |
| II, and served as Legislative Chairman; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Barbara J. Gross is a well-respected member of her |
| 23 |
| community and has assumed many roles in her lifetime; she |
| 24 |
| exemplifies the true meaning of a public servant; therefore, be |
| 25 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 28 |
| recognize and honor Barbara J. Gross for her many years of |
| 29 |
| conscientious devotion to the citizens of Morgan County; and be |
| 30 |
