| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to recognize
|
| 3 |
| significant milestones in the lives of the people of this
|
| 4 |
| State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Clara Alice |
| 6 |
| Eccles of Salem recently
celebrated the 108th anniversary of |
| 7 |
| her birth
on July 6, 2004; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Clara Alice Lee was born on July 6, 1896, in the |
| 9 |
| Orchardville area; she married John Eccles on January 29, 1923; |
| 10 |
| and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Eccles celebrated this momentous birthday |
| 12 |
| with a few close friends, including Salem Mayor Leonard |
| 13 |
| Ferguson who presented her the Key to the City for the third |
| 14 |
| year in a row and, likewise, for the third year in a row, she |
| 15 |
| sang "Yankee Doodle Dandy" to him; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Eccles has outlived her husband, her four |
| 17 |
| children, and all of her siblings; she still has surviving |
| 18 |
| grandchildren; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 21 |
| sincerely congratulate Clara Alice Eccles on the occasion of |
| 22 |
| her 108th birthday; and we wish her good health and continued |
| 23 |
| happiness in all of her endeavors; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Clara Alice Eccles as a token of our esteem and |
| 26 |
| admiration.
