| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize Alsip Chief of Police David |
4 |
| Snooks on the occasion of his retirement on July 23, 2004 after |
5 |
| 26 years of service to the Alsip community; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, David Snooks was born and raised in Chicago's |
7 |
| Scottsdale neighborhood; a third-generation civil servant, |
8 |
| both his father and grandfather were Chicago firemen; and |
9 |
| WHEREAS, He joined the Alsip police force as a patrolman in |
10 |
| July of 1978 after spending four years with the Naperville |
11 |
| police; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Long before he became chief, David Snooks was |
13 |
| making changes in the department; during the mid-1980s he |
14 |
| coordinated an project to install on-line computers in all the |
15 |
| department's squad cars; and |
16 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Snooks climbed through the ranks, and was |
17 |
| promoted to lieutenant in charge of patrol in July 1991; and in |
18 |
| July 2000, he took the reigns of the department from outgoing |
19 |
| chief Ken Wood; therefore, be it |
20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
22 |
| together with his officers, village board and its
employees, |
23 |
| friends, family, colleagues, and community, we
salute the |
24 |
| accomplishments of Alsip Chief of Police David Snooks and wish
|
25 |
| him a joyful and meaningful retirement that is well deserved; |
26 |
| and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to Alsip Chief of Police David Snooks as a token of |
29 |
| our admiration.
