| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois learned with great sadness of the death of |
4 |
| Stanley Amos of Chicago on Thursday, June 3, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Amos was born on October 8, 1947, in Chicago |
6 |
| to David and Gertrude Amos; he graduated from John M. Harlan |
7 |
| High School in 1965; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Amos retired from the United States Postal |
9 |
| Service where he worked as a letter carrier; he was a long-time |
10 |
| member of Olivet Baptist Church in Chicago; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Stanley Amos has been deeply felt |
12 |
| by many, especially his aunts, Ruth Teema and Lenora Amos; his |
13 |
| cousins, Carl Ward, Sharon Ward, Darlene Reed, and Ollie |
14 |
| Morrissette; and his devoted friends, Walter Brown and Bessie |
15 |
| Higginbottom; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
17 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
18 |
| mourn the passing of Stanley Amos, and we extend our sincerest |
19 |
| condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
20 |
| him; and be it further
|
21 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
22 |
| presented to the family of Stanley Amos as an expression of our |
23 |
| deepest sympathy.
