| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Joseph Kessler of |
4 |
| Danville on being named the Illinois National Guard's Youth of |
5 |
| the Year; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Joseph Kessler is a freshman at Danville High |
7 |
| School; in the past year, he logged more than 2,000 hours |
8 |
| volunteering in various ways to assist families whose loved |
9 |
| ones have been deployed through the military or are preparing |
10 |
| for deployment; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, In his efforts to assist the families, Joseph has |
12 |
| been found carrying groceries, babysitting, and doing various |
13 |
| other odd jobs; he has been doing this kind of volunteer work |
14 |
| for the past 4 years; and |
15 |
| WHEREAS, Joseph comes from a military family; his father |
16 |
| has been deployed 7 times since Joseph was 18 months old, most |
17 |
| recently to Operation Desert Storm, so Joseph can relate to the |
18 |
| families that he helps; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, His mother, Anne Kessler, works for Military |
20 |
| Personnel Services Corp., a private company that contracts with |
21 |
| the military to provide support services to families with |
22 |
| relatives in the military, which provided the initial |
23 |
| inspiration for Joseph to begin his volunteer efforts; |
24 |
| therefore, be it |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
26 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
27 |
| congratulate Joseph Kessler of Danville on being named the |
28 |
| Illinois National Guard's Youth of the Year, and we thank him |
29 |
| for his unselfish efforts to help his fellow citizens of |
30 |
| Illinois; and be it further
