| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Clarence |
4 |
| "Bubba" Glenn on Thursday, April 22, 2004; and |
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Glenn was born in Chicago, one of 6 children |
6 |
| of Clarence and Gertrude Glenn; he grew up in Bronzeville and |
7 |
| graduated from Wendell Phillips High School; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Glenn took a few courses at community colleges |
9 |
| and joined the Cook County sheriff's department; he was often |
10 |
| loaned out to work undercover for other agencies; in the course |
11 |
| of his work he infiltrated major gangs and the Mafia; he spent |
12 |
| 3 decades as a private detective, often working undercover for |
13 |
| the FBI, Secret Service, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and |
14 |
| Firearms; and |
15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Glenn often helped the Chicago Police |
16 |
| Department find the killers of police officers; in the |
17 |
| mid-1990s, Mr. Glenn worked with the Secret Service tracking |
18 |
| down people who were cloning cell phone numbers; Cellular One |
19 |
| gave him a franchise to operate and he became interested, |
20 |
| running it for a time after the case was over; he was known for |
21 |
| his generosity and always had a smile on his face; and |
22 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Clarence "Bubba" Glenn has been |
23 |
| deeply felt by many, especially his former wife, Florence |
24 |
| Glenn; his daughters, Clarissa Glenn and Yvonne Glenn-Brown; |
25 |
| his sons, Clarence and Bryan; his sisters, Diane, Joanne, and |
26 |
| Clarice Glenn; his brothers, Council and Franklin; and his 10 |
27 |
| grandchildren; therefore, be it |
