| WHEREAS, The Taoist Tai Chi Society USA-Illinois is |
3 |
| celebrating its Tenth Anniversary and the Grand Opening of its |
4 |
| center in Arlington Heights on July 24, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, The Taoist Tai Chi Society USA-Illinois teaches |
6 |
| classes in Taoist Tai Chi in Arlington Heights, Chicago, and |
7 |
| Lombard and at senior centers and park districts in Palatine, |
8 |
| Glenview, Northbrook, Rolling Meadows, and Lombard; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, The Taoist Tai Chi Society USA-Illinois is a |
10 |
| volunteer, non-profit organization and is one of 500 such |
11 |
| branches of the International Taoist Tai Chi Society in more |
12 |
| than two dozen states and 25 countries throughout the world; |
13 |
| and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The Taoist Tai Chi Society was founded by Mr. Moy |
15 |
| Lin Shin, who came to Canada from Hong Kong in 1970 and devoted |
16 |
| his life to bringing the healing benefits of Taoist Tai Chi to |
17 |
| others; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The Taoist Tai Chi Society USA-Illinois teaches |
19 |
| Taoist Tai Chi for the dual cultivation of body and mind and |
20 |
| has a special outreach to seniors and those who struggle with |
21 |
| illness; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, Taoist Tai Chi incorporates stretching and |
23 |
| turning into a sequence of movements that improve the health of |
24 |
| body, mind, and spirit, and can reduce tension, improve |
25 |
| circulation, balance, and flexibility, and strengthen the |
26 |
| immune system; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, Instructors in the Taoist Tai Chi Society are |
28 |
| nationally accredited volunteers, and follow the aims and |
29 |
| objectives of the Taoist Tai Chi Society, which are to make |
