| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to honor citizens of the State |
4 |
| who valiantly serve our country; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Michael Samuel Chapman was born on November 15, |
6 |
| 1978, to Tim and Maureen Chapman; he is a native of Carol |
7 |
| Stream; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Lieutenant Chapman attended Glenbard North High |
9 |
| School in Carol Stream; he graduated in 1998 and received |
10 |
| National Honor Society awards; he enlisted in the U.S. Army on |
11 |
| August 12, 2000; he was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, |
12 |
| Texas, where he held the rank of 2nd Lieutenant of the 978 |
13 |
| Military Police Company #91440; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, From March 4, 2001, to March 4, 2002, he served in |
15 |
| South Korea; he achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant of the 978 |
16 |
| Military Police Company #91440; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Lieutenant Chapman most recently served in Iraq |
18 |
| from August 8, 2003, until March 24, 2004, in Operation Iraqi |
19 |
| Freedom; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
22 |
| thank 1st Lieutenant Michael Samuel Chapman for his service to |
23 |
| our country and for his willingness to fight for the rights and |
24 |
| well-being of others; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to 1st Lieutenant Michael Samuel Chapman as an |
27 |
| expression of our sincerest gratitude for his military service.
