| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Carmelo |
| 4 |
| Mercado of Chicago on March 19, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Mercado was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico |
| 6 |
| on August 10, 1966, and resided in the Westtown Community for |
| 7 |
| many years; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Mercado was a member of Pan de Vida (Bread of |
| 9 |
| Life) Church, where he served as an Associate Pastor, |
| 10 |
| ministering to the needs of the youth; he also served as Youth |
| 11 |
| Mentoring Coordinator at the Miguel del Valle Youth Development |
| 12 |
| Center; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Carmelo Mercado will be deeply felt |
| 14 |
| by many, especially his parents, Luis Manuel and Rosa Mercado; |
| 15 |
| his wife, Digna Maria Perez; his children, Jelisa, Joshua, and |
| 16 |
| Marcus Mercado; his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews; and |
| 17 |
| his colleagues, co-workers, and friends; therefore, be it
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 20 |
| mourn the death of Carmelo Mercado along with all who knew and |
| 21 |
| loved him and extend our sincere condolences to his family and |
| 22 |
| friends; and be it further
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 24 |
| presented to the family of Carmel Mercado as an expression of |
| 25 |
| our deepest sympathy.
