| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize the city of Villa Grove, in |
| 4 |
| Douglas County, on the occasion of its Centennial celebration |
| 5 |
| and offer our congratulations on celebrating 100 years as a |
| 6 |
| community; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The earliest history of Villa Grove dates back to |
| 8 |
| the 1850s; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Because of its equidistance between Chicago and |
| 10 |
| St. Louis, the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad |
| 11 |
| established the "New Town" Villa Grove in 1903, which includes |
| 12 |
| the present-day business district; therefore, be it
|
| 13 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 14 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 15 |
| recognize the City of Villa Grove's Centennial celebration and |
| 16 |
| congratulate the city on celebrating 100 years as a community; |

| and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be sent to the |
| 19 |
| city of Villa Grove with our best wishes for a successful |
| 20 |
| centennial celebration.
