| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Lillie |
4 |
| Bell Jones on December 14, 2003; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Lillie Bell Jones was born on February 18, 1919 to |
6 |
| the union of James and Carrie Clark; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, She was raised and educated in Birmingham, |
8 |
| Alabama, where she met and married Willie Jones, Jr.; she later |
9 |
| relocated to Chicago where she became a member of Mt. Calvary |
10 |
| Baptist Church; she later united with St. John Missionary |
11 |
| Baptist Church where she was a faithful and active member of |
12 |
| the Mother's Board and several committees; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lillie Bell Jones will be deeply |
14 |
| felt by many, especially her children, Geraldine (Jack) Walls, |
15 |
| Wilfred, James, Leonard, and Willie Jones; her grandchildren, |
16 |
| Elayne, Karla, Michael (Kelly), Jacquelyn, Leonard, Rhonda, |
17 |
| Camille, Valentino, and Marcella; her great-grandchildren, |
18 |
| Joshua, Jayla, and Jaci; and a host of other relatives and |
19 |
| friends; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by two children, Audrey |
21 |
| and Bernard; therefore, be it
|
22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
23 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
24 |
| mourn the passing of Lillie Bell Jones along with all who knew |
25 |
| and loved her and extend our sincere condolences to her family |
26 |
| and friends; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to the family of Lillie Bell Jones as an expression |
29 |
| of our deepest sympathy.
