HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish 
3
to congratulate Tom Schwarzlose on the occasion of his 50 
4
continuous years of loyal association with Traders Realty and 
5
his years of community service; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Mr. Schwarzlose began his career with Traders 
7
Realty in Peoria in October of 1953 and since that time has 
8
been a member of the Peoria Area Association of Realtors and 
9
past president of the Peoria Association of Realtors; he was 
10
among the first graduating class of the Graduate Realtors 
11
Institute in Illinois and was the first recipient of the Peoria 
12
Area Association of Realtors' "Realtor of the Year" award; he 
13
was one of the first 2 "Million Dollar Producers" in the Peoria 
14
area and is held in high regard and esteem by his colleagues at 
15
Traders and by other realtors statewide; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Mr. Schwarzlose has set a 
17
standard of excellence in his commitment to his community and 
18
has always left the community organizations he has served 
19
better than he found them; he began his idea of giving back to 
20
his community while captured during World War II and spending 8 
21
months as a prisoner of war in Germany, thus beginning his work 
22
with the American Red Cross; he has served as President and 
23
Chairman of the United Way, President of the Peoria Jaycees, an 
24
Executive Board member of the Creve Coeur Council of the Boy 
25
Scouts, a member of the Board of Directors of Christian Buehler 
26
Memorial Home, a Charter member of the Board of Peoria City 
27
Beautiful, a member of the St. Francis Community Board, 
28
President and Board member of the Bergen PTA, and President and 
29
Director of St. Augustine Manor and has served on Crippled 
30
Children's, Cancer and Heart drives; and

 
31
    WHEREAS, Mr. Schwarzlose is the recipient of the Peoria 
32
Jaycees' Distinguished Service Award and was the 1999 recipient

of the Illinois Association of Realtors' Citizenship Award, an 
2
award recognizing one realtor within the State of Illinois who 
3
has provided outstanding contributions and service to his or 
4
her local community and the real estate industry; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Mr. Schwarzlose is recognized in the Peoria 
6
community for his constant display of love and respect for and 
7
commitment to his fellow man; he is revered by his realtor 
8
peers for his personal integrity, honesty, and sense of 
9
fairness; his 50 years of dedication to Traders Realty and the 
10
impact he has had on organized real estate is a testament to 
11
his loyalty and dedication of purpose; therefore, be it

 
12
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
13
NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
14
congratulate Mr. Tom Schwarzlose on the occasion of his 50 
15
years of continuous service to Traders Realty and to the 
16
community of Peoria; and be it further

 
17
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18
presented to Mr. Schwarzlose as an expression of our esteem.
