093_HR0470 LRB093 13272 HSS 18562 r 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Mary 4 J. Lynch of Alsip on April 17, 2003; and 5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Lynch was Alsip Park Commissioner for 22 6 years; she was also employed with District 228 Bremen High 7 School for 30 years and was awarded winner of Who's Who of 8 American Teachers; and 9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Lynch was a member of the VFW Women's 10 Auxiliary #450 and the Village Sportsman Club; in addition, 11 she was an active volunteer for the Village of Alsip and 12 surrounding area; and 13 WHEREAS, The Mary J. Lynch Scholarship Foundation was 14 started in May of 2003; the scholarship is to be awarded to 15 one student who wants to further their education in 16 vocational studies; this foundation was formed in her honor 17 because of her hard work, cheery smile, and life dedication 18 to teaching children; and 19 WHEREAS, The Alsip Park District and the Mary J. Lynch 20 Scholarship Foundation are planning a special day in Mrs. 21 Lynch's memory on September 21, 2003; the Alsip Park 22 District's skate park will be renamed Mary J. Lynch Skate 23 Park in her honor; and 24 WHEREAS, Mary Lynch's passing will be deeply felt by 25 many, especially her loving husband of 30 years, Thomas J. 26 Lynch; her children, Timothy (Jennifer Hansen) Lynch, Tammy 27 (Frank) Potenzo; Tracey Lynch, and Theresa Lynch; her 28 sisters, Barbara (Ronald) Kedzior, Rose Gallagher, and 29 Elizabeth Knudsen; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be 30 it 31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE -2- LRB093 13272 HSS 18562 r 1 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 2 we mourn the passing of Mary J. Lynch along with all who knew 3 and loved her and extend our sincere condolences to her 4 family, friends, and community; and be it further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 presented to the family of Mary J. Lynch as an expression of 7 our deepest sympathy.
