 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, On January 15, 2001 the Musee du Louvre of Paris
 3    officially acknowledged  receipt  of  a  drawing  created  by
 4    Chicago artist Robert P. Workman; and

 5        WHEREAS, The drawing was donated to the American Artist's
 6    Collection  of  the  Musee du Louvre in early January to mark
 7    the new millennium; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Workman was born in Chicago and is the first
 9    American Artist accepted in the Musee du  Louvre;  he  is  an
10    alumni  of  the Ecole Du Louvre, as well as The School of the
11    Art Institute of Chicago and has work in the Archives of  the
12    Musees of Nationaux de France; and

13        WHEREAS,  The pen and ink drawing has an Ancient Egyptian
14    theme,  and  includes  Ancient  Egyptian  Hieroglyphics;  the
15    drawing bears witness to  the  International  renown  of  the
16    Louvre; therefore, be it

17        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
18    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
19    we  congratulate  Robert  P.  Workman  on his this monumental
20    achievement and wish him well in all his future endeavors  as
21    an artist; and be it further

22        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
23    presented to Robert  P.  Workman  as  an  expression  of  our
24    respect and esteem.
