 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State  of  Illinois  would  like to thank the organizer,
 4    volunteers, and participants of the Mt. Vernon Relay for Life
 5    for their hard work and contributions to the event; and

 6        WHEREAS, Relay for Life is an annual fundraiser  for  the
 7    American Cancer Society; and

 8        WHEREAS,  Each year, the Relay for Life consists of teams
 9    which commit to having one member walk the track  during  the
10    entire  event; the opening lap at each relay is traditionally
11    known as the  Survivor's  Lap,  which  is  walked  by  cancer
12    survivors; and

13        WHEREAS,  Sherry  Meadows  served as the Chairman for the
14    Mt. Vernon relay; therefore, be it

15        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
16    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17    we congratulate Sherry Meadows, for  her  extensive  work  in
18    support of the Mt. Vernon Relay for Life annual event; and be
19    it further

20        RESOLVED,  That  we  extend  our  heartiest thanks to the
21    volunteers, cancer survivors, and participants for their work
22    on behalf of cancer research and awareness, and we honor  the
23    memory of the victims of cancer; and be it further

24        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
25    presented to Sherry Meadows as an expression of  our  sincere
26    gratitude and respect.
