093_HR0422 LRB093 12190 KEF 17370 r 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Maureen McSweeney Escherich will be honored on 3 June 9, 2003, at the Rosewood West by the Mount Greenwood 4 Civic Association as the 2003 "Woman of the Year"; and 5 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 6 Representatives have been informed of this accomplishment by 7 State Representative Kevin Joyce; and 8 WHEREAS, Maureen is the devoted daughter of Robert and 9 Shirley McSweeney; she is a graduate of Saint John Fisher 10 Grammar School in 1973 and Bogan High School in 1977; she 11 married Art Escherich on March 21, 1986; the union of their 12 marriage brought them three beautiful daughters, Maura, 13 Kathleen, and Claire; their family has been proud 14 parishioners of Queen of Martyrs Parish for the past 12 15 years; and 16 WHEREAS, Almighty God in his infinite wisdom called 17 Arthur Escherich to his eternal reward on February 14, 2002; 18 his kindness, courage, and terrific sense of humor endeared 19 him to family, friends, and all who knew him; and 20 WHEREAS, Maureen has been a dedicated employee of the 21 Cook County Assessor's office since December of 1979; she has 22 served as a precinct captain for the 19th Ward Democratic 23 Organization for 12 years; and 24 WHEREAS, Maureen is active in numerous civic 25 organizations, as well as many charitable causes in her 26 community, including the Mount Greenwood Special Recreation 27 Parents' Association, the Mount Greenwood Civic Association, 28 the Queen of Martyrs Holy Name Society, the Elim Christian 29 School Parents' Association, and the Marist High School 30 Mothers Club; and 31 WHEREAS, Maureen Escherich, throughout her life, has been -2- LRB093 12190 KEF 17370 r 1 respected by family and friends for her character, 2 dedication, and commitment to a worthy cause in need; 3 therefore, be it 4 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 5 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 6 we congratulate Maureen Escherich for being honored as the 7 2003 Woman of the Year and for her commitment to the Mount 8 Greenwood Community; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this Resolution be 10 presented to the family of Maureen Escherich as an expression 11 of our respect and esteem.
