 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of
 4    Roberta Kemph Sheahan on April 10, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Mrs. Sheahan was born on August  28,  1955;  she
 6    married  John Sheahan and was the mother of Kelly, Mike, Mary
 7    Rose, and Marty; and

 8        WHEREAS, Roberta was  well-respected  and  loved  by  the
 9    Beverly  area  of  Chicago for over 25 years; she worked as a
10    legislative assistant for the office of Representative Thomas
11    Dart where she selflessly  served  constituents  for  over  3
12    years; and

13        WHEREAS,  Roberta's  extraordinary  sense of humor always
14    made her fun to be with whether at home or in the office; and

15        WHEREAS, Roberta was an  enthusiastic  supporter  of  Mt.
16    Carmel  High  School,  located in Chicago, where her brother,
17    Steve, and son, Mike, were students; and

18        WHEREAS, Roberta was instrumental in the establishment of
19    dating violence prevention programs in Chicago  and  suburban
20    high schools; and

21        WHEREAS,  Roberta's  sense  of  family,  friendship,  and
22    community  are  a  testament  to the deep caring and love she
23    felt for others, as was evidenced by her organizing a  yearly
24    Christmas Party for the needy children of her area; and

25        WHEREAS,  Roberta  was  an  active  member of St. Cajetan
26    Parish where she participated in many  community  activities;
27    she  will  be  greatly  missed  and  her family, friends, and
28    community  will  truly  feel  the  loss  of   her   presence;
29    therefore, be it

30        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE

 1    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
 2    together with her friends, family, and all who knew and loved
 3    her,  we  mourn the death of Roberta Kemph Sheahan and extend
 4    to them our deepest sympathy; and be it further

 5        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 6    presented  to  the  family  of  Roberta  Kemph  Sheahan as an
 7    expression of our sincere condolences.
